Manifesto

Hello, my name is Hanna. I am running for the position of Mature Students’ Officer and I believe I have the right experience and the motivation to represent our mature students' community. As a current member of the MSA, I know what challenges lie ahead of us.

I have a previous experience of organising events and working within a society structures, as last year I was the Social Secretary at the Polish Society. Gaining their trust meant that this year I was voted for the position of the Vice Chair.

I am passionate about lifelong learning and I think it is important to encourage more people to pursue higher education, no matter what age they are. I am a committed to the cause and I want to make a positive change.

If elected I will campaign for the following things:

Inclusion - Organise more events that suit mature students and collaborate with different societies, associations and colleges in order to attract wider participation in the university social life.

Support -  Appoint mature student representatives in every college to expand our support network. Work closely with the Student Support Hub, the Advice & Support Centre and the Open Door team, to meet the various needs of mature students.

Facilities - Create a common room for mature students that has an access to kitchen and lockers.

Committee - Establish a strong committee that would promote the Mature Students Association and attract more active members.

Academic support - Work with the Student Support Hub to create comprehensive academic aids and guides that are aimed at the mature students.

Wellbeing - Promote events that focus on wellbeing and create an atmosphere of general mutual support.

I hope I have your vote!

Thanks for reading,

Hanna
